Our Eye Care Services:
Comprehensive Eye Exams
Routine eye exams are important, regardless of your age or physical health. During a complete eye exam, Dr. Wittmann will not only determine your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses but will also check your eyes for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes work together as a team, and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health.
Contact Lens Exams
Dr. Wittmann also discusses the different contact lens types based on your lifestyle, wearing habits and budget. She fits soft contact lenses that can correct nearsightedness, far-sightedness, astigmatism, as well as presbyopia.
Eye Conditions & Eye Disease Co-Management
Eye problems can range from mild to severe; some are chronic, while others may resolve on their own, never to appear again. The cardinal rule is if your eyes don't look good, feel good or see well, you should visit your eye doctor.
Dry Eye Management
Do you ever experience eye redness, foreign body sensation, tired eyes, fluctuating vision with blinking? Dry eye disease is an extremely common condition that affects almost everyone, especially in El Paso. The type of dry eye and associated conditions that you have will determine the type of treatment that is recommended. Dr. Wittmann does recommend giving your eyes frequent breaks from digital devices to anyone that looks at a computer, laptop, tablet, cell phone, and/or television.
Pediatric Eyecare
Eye exams are incredibly important for those whose eyes and vision are still developing. If not treated at a very early age, strabismus and/or amblyopia may result in diminished vision that can affect a child for the rest of their lives. The ability to learn is dependent on clear vision so it is recommended that your child have an eye exam at six months of age, three as well as six years of age. At Wittmann Vision we offer eye exams for children aged six and older.
Astigmatism Treatment
Astigmatism, used to describe football-shaped corneas, causes blurred/distorted vision usually most noticeable at night as glare/linear light bursts. This type of refractive error can usually be treated with glasses or contact lenses. In cases of irregular astigmatism, specialty hard contact lenses, known as scleral lenses, are sometimes required for vision correction.
